And, today almost every single person on this earth uses the web. In fact, the article you read or the video you watch online is only because of the web.     1. First Website

    The first website went online on August 6, 1991, and it still exists. Address of the website is- http://info.cern.ch

    2. NeXT! was Actually the First

    Mr. Tim Baerners-Lee used NeXT Computer as the world’s first web server and wrote the first Web Browser in the year 1990- World Wide Web. The NeXT Computer is available at CERN today also.

    3. Wait, What It’s Free?

    A European Research Organization named as CERN, which is near Geneva, announced on April 30, 1993, that World Wide Web would be free. Anyone around the whole world can use it for free, with no due fees. Thanks to CERN, today we all can enjoy using Web for free.

    4. The Boss

    The world’s fastest growing medium of communication and interaction was the World Wide Web. The Web achieved it’s first 50 million users in just 5 years. While Radio took 38 years and Television took 13 years. It is also believed that the launch of Mosaic Web Browser in the year 1993 was the turning point in the history of the web.

    7. Google It

    Kevin Mackenzie was the first person who used an emoticon 🙂 and its character in the year 1979. Later it was upgraded in the year 1982, by Mr. Scott Fahlma. Well, thanks to both of them because we all love <3 using them.

    LOG was the first message that was transmitted using internet precursor. The sender of the message actually wanted to word LOGIN. But, because of the data load of letter G, the whole network got crashed.

    10. Zoohoo

    On 23rd April 2005, the first YouTube video was uploaded. The title of the video was ‘Me at the Zoo’. The founder of San Diego Zoo, Mr. Jawed Karim was featured in this video.
