    WhatsApp has warned its user that they should not use unofficial or clone WhatsApp application. WhatsApp hasn’t done so because of the user’s safety. As the company is not able to verify the security practices for the users of the third-party applications. Because of it, WhatsApp is taking strict action in order to convert the user from the clone app to the official WhatsApp application. WhatsApp has decided to ban the user account that is using unofficial or other versions of the application available. WhatsApp is taking a harsh step by banning its users, but they have said this is only temporary and the users who got banned can still use WhatsApp by switching to the official version of the application.     In an interview with Indian Express, WhatsApp Spokesperson mentioned “WhatsApp cares deeply about the safety of our users. To protect the privacy and security of their account, we strongly recommend users only download WhatsApp from official app stores or from our website.     Guideline for Switching to Official WhatsApp Application

    WhatsApp has shared FAQ on its website about how to migrate from unofficial to official WhatsApp application and restore chats. You can also find the steps mentioned below-

    1- For GB WhatsApp users:

    If you are using GB WhatsApp and your profile has been blocked or banned, follow these steps to operate WhatsApp again and recover all your Chat.

    Step 1: To recover old chats, make sure you back up chat history on the unofficial application once the temporary ban is elevated. For doing the same, go to WhatsApp > Options > Chats > Backup chats.

    Step 2: Go to phone settings, then storage, select files and find GB WhatsApp folder.

    Step 3: Rename the select folder to “WhatsApp” by long pressing the icon.

    Step 4: Download official WhatsApp from Play Store.

    Step 5: Verify phone number with OTP and select Restore when prompted to backup chats.

    Step 6: WhatsApp will retrieve your old data from the unofficial app.

    2-  For WhatsApp Plus users:

    If you are using WhatsApp Plus and your profile has been blocked or banned, follow these steps to operate WhatsApp again and recover all your Chat

    Step 1: Download and install official WhatsApp from the Play Store.
